Can't remember where I got this for sure. Ran across it again when cleaning up a display case. It appears to be a printing plate for cigar box labels. Solid brass. Brand is Non Plus Ultra by the Horace R Kelly co. "The Oldest Cigar Firm in the United States". Also says Manila P.I. (Plillipine Islands I would assume).
The following is an excerpt from the National Tobacco Museum site.
1839 Horace R. Kelly goes into the cigar making business, manufacturing GEORGE THE FOURTH cigars in Key West, Florida. Advertises on 1890’s[?] celluloid change tray that he is “The oldest cigar firm in the U.S.” and has an office in New York and factory in Tampa. His Key West factory (#16) has 200 rollers in 1886, but he is not in Directories for 1893 or 1905.
Any other info is appreciated.
