    TRIKER
    (13 items)

Thought I'd show off my Trike. I built it in 2005 from a 1968 VW. About 9 months involved while dealing with herniated disc in my lower back. It has a stock 1600 engine and 4 spd. tranny with 3.88 to 1 ring and pinnion (high geared for the freeway). I've had it up to 95mph. Rides great! The trailer is Harbor Freight and is perfect for this. The next one I build will be a V8 or V6 Trike

Love your trike. There were a few of these beetle trikes around in the late sixties. The rear engine Corvair was also used for trikes. I had an old Harley servi-car with no reverse. A real pain backing up. Is the bike tank functional? maybe as a speedometer?

Thank you ALL for the loves and likes. There is a Corvair Trike running around here that belonged to the owners Father that was built in the mid 70's. It is beautiful and has been restored by the present owner. Yes the bike tank is functional. I have a total of of about 11 gallons on board with them all full. The bike tanks are Harley flat side fat bobs from a 1985 - 99 Softail and the dash is FXR which had a gas guage and filler cap. I haven't figured out what to put in their place yet but it will be something cool. Possably a speedo and tach. I know about the "no reverse" situation. I put over 100,000 miles on a 79 Goldwing full dressed and pulled a similar trailer for a lot of those miles. My "Reverse" used to ride on the seat behind me. LOL

AMAZING job TRIKER, have you "worked" the engine? The "wind left my sail" when i tried to start my Corvair, no compression in two cylinders. Im scared to death thinking about trying to fix it.

Thank you Mikielikesigns2. It was a labor of love. The engine is a stock rebuilt 1600. Don't give up on the Corvair. It could be just valves stuck open. Them good old engines will surprize you. For example: I just pulled a Honda trail 90 out of storage after 8 years. The battery actually took a charge and after putting in fuel I put the choke on and it started on the second kick like it was just running yesterday. I was totally amazed.
