    This Unger sterling needlecase may originally have been for a chatelaine but is just as beautiful in a sewing case or workbasket. I wonder if the charm was added before or after it was first sold.

      I'm not really certain. My reproduction Unger catalogs are in storage. I would guess that it would have been in the 1890's but they went out of business around 1910? so it could be 20th century.
