For Christmas this year I was given several US coins by a family member. Cool gift, huh?!? As I'm new to the prospect of collecting coins (and not extremely patient) I could use some help identifying some of them. I'm noticing that unlike most of the coins similar to these posted on the internet, mine do not have dates on them. What's up with that???? Would appreciate any information available!
They are aren't really a coin but a silver round. Pure silver at that. Right now as I type silver is at $28.72 an .oz so that coins is worth at least that much. Nice thing to hold on to and let it go up in value.
So...I won't be retiring anytime soon! Is there any way to determine when these were produced since no date is imprinted on the pieces?
Most coin dealers will buy these on any day at what ever the current bullion price is minus a percentage. I would always ask the buy "what percentage of melt do you pay?" 70 - 80% is fair. If they offer any less I would walk or run away.
