    I wont 2 know if this chess set is a collectible. I beleave it's from the mid 60's thur early 70's set. If anyone have any insight on this board, could u inlighten me! thanx

      Hi, I think you are about right in your estimate of date on this set, it's a bit young to be really collectable and if you could get rid of the ink stain on the white queen it would look better. On the plus side it is a modified Staunton pattern set and quite playable. I would guess it would sell for between $50-$100.

      It's a Mexican set and I agree you're right about the date. I'm not sure that is a stain on the White Queen, Alan, :p. I think it might be variation in the wood grain if you're talking about the same dark spot I'm looking at. You can see similar marks on the other pieces, though not as dark. It's some kind of pine/conifer wood and the variation is typical for this kind of set.
