I haven't much info on this watch , but I can tell you that it's a key wind and the snake was use as a symbol of everlasting love during the Victorian era, Hope this helps in your search for answers. Thanks for sharing this awesome timepiece.

Also key set, and I'm sure you've fiqured out it is from Paris.

Yes.I have the key for it.I don't plan on winding it,till i get it checked out.Thank you for you'r help.I would have never guessed what the snake meant. My Grandfather loved his watches, and I shared that love with him.

A beautiful face! Love the snake and the ruby eye!
      Just a hint about "Hands".
French handwriting can have some differences to what you'd expect.
I think this actually reads "Kands"

Note too that Poncin is written in this French handwriting style and the Paris is in a more gothic font. Poncin is a town & a commune in the Ain department in eastern France. It lies on the banks of the Ain River. It is also a French surname.

Kands is also a French surname. I think it is originally Armenian. There is a watchmaker working in Toulouse of that name who repairs old clocks. This may have nothing to do with your watch though.

The French term for a pocket watch is montre a gousset (de poche).

Yes toolate. The craftsmanship that went in to the movement really makes this watch special to me,and i'd like to think this watch is a one of a kind special made for some one in some little quaint french town while they where on their travels in Paris.
