Is there anyone who can help :), this is another of my many mystery objects........
Let me tell you what I know : It is decorated with the crown and the other emblems of the United Kingdom, its made of iron, it has a hand made nut and screw, it appears to have been completely guilded at some point in the past, I feel the object is well over a hundred years old.....
But what and where was it used ?
It is obviously some form of hook ?, I thought maybe for a curtain as in a tie back, but there is no wear to the sides, maybe part of an old carrage ? I just dont know. Its not worth any money but is really facinating, which to me is more valuable than money.
There should have been two? Used to hold back curtains? A curtain holdback?
