Purchased this early pencil set as a result of a bid auction for twenty bucks. I consider this little inexpensive gem to be toward my "Coca-Cola Knick-Knack" collection, which is a growing number of little things stashed in my ice chest (wallet, bell glasses, etc.). Condition of this pencil set is very good, eraser is melted and one of the blotters is stained with age. But it's complete, and pretty cool that the pieces have been together for 75 years or so. Petretti's lists this item as having ten pieces, I counted 9 (2 std pencils, 1 double pencil, 1 pen, 1 ruler, 2 blotters, 1 eraser, and 1 case). But TGBWC advises all 10 pieces are there. Can anybody else identify piece #10?

Nice set Dave!! I physically count 9, but does the red/ blue pencil count as two??
Hey Tommy! Thanks for taking a look. Nope, the two colored pencil is one item. There is something else in that picture that counts as #10. I wouldn't have known if Ray hadn't told me. Here's a hint: It's removable.

#10 is the removable metal fountain pen tip.
