This is another old pocketwatch I found in a box in my dad's estate. It seems to be in really good shape & still works. Just wondering what it might be worth. ( I would hate to sell a $1000 watch for $50 )
To find out information about this watch you need to open it up and get the serial number off the insides. To open it you lay the dial face in your left palm and, using your right palm, unscrew the back. Once open you will probably see a hinged clock face. You will need to gently pull the fob (like you would for winding) and the hinge will then open fully. Write down the serial number then search for Elgin pocket watch identification.
i don't know anything about pocket watches but i had to say that i thought this was a very beautiful watch.
Im not sure by just looking at front .Is is just gold tone? And How many jewels? If only 17 jewel and gold tone. Then 75-125 ? That is my opinion .I do have a lot of watches too and love them.
