A collection of pins saved as i clean out boxes here at home from 100 years some gold, special police badge for a kid 1930s, the Newpie baby is from 1909. Cub Scout Den Mother pin, 4H Club pin , Authors Telegram League pin, and a green stone of Buddha.
Are you sure that special police badge is for a child? It looks real to me. I'll bet someone in your family had a police connection. If the badge is of good solid heavy metal instead of flimsy thin metal with a wire pin it is probably official. What does the back look like?
Militarist, Yes it's real I sent this file to Sutton police chief, told him about my wifes father working on the family farm early 1940s. He agreed its very heavy put small, maybe before WWII these were for kids.
Back is clean with the right pin left to right Sutton Ma was a farm town 50 miles west of Boston, look at the basketball team i post here the guy in charge was the farmer who invited his sister's boy to the farm for summers. The team shot is from 1902 Springfield Ma is just west of Sutton, and basketball started in 1899. The green wheelbarrow i posted shots on here came from this farm later.
I would bet that the badge is a wallet badge since specials were usually civilians, friends of the chief and other volunteers who could be called during emergencies as back ups. In this day and age they usually just have id. cards.
