Star Soap (Schultz and Co.) started around 1866. They had plenty of creative advertising methods such as books of nursery rhymes with Star Soap incorporated into the stories themselves. Online you can find Litho Paper Signs, Trading Cards, and Pocket Mirrors. They sold their company to Proctor & Gamble in 1903 for $846,000. Here I have an early porcelain sign. This sign is steel and is VERY heavy for its size and the letters are raised. The Red and White letters are actually raised differently. It feels very smooth. I am not sure of the actual date, but I would guess this a very early porcelain sign. Could this be a early version of a door push?

Wow, this is very similar to my sign, same hole placement and everything. My guess is it was made around the same time by the same sign manufactoring company.
