Surely would be appreciative of some knowledgeable input on these. They've been a puzzle to me for years and have been unable to find out anything of substance online. They're about 7.5" in length, clearly hand-wrought, very sharp, and rather heavy. The mark is an "E" (of a sort), a steam locomotive engine, and a "7" with a line through it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
This is a pair of Japanese shears/scissors used in the Japanese style of flower arranging known as Ikebana. Check out amazon.com. Older vintage pairs may possibly be collectible among those doing Ikebana. The marks you see on this pair may actually be Japanese and actually made in Japan.
How lovely. It's so good to know just what these are. I've loved them for years but just couldn't find the maker's marks anywhere online. Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know. Too cool...mystery solved!
