    A close family friend has someone interested in this figure but we have no clue what the value of it would be. Anyone that could help identify it and what it is valued at Please help me wihunting at yahoo dot com. Thanks for any help!

      This is called a lawn jockey.. It was used to tie your horse on in the yard when someone came to visit, in the horse & buggie days.. I had one just like it. Sold it for 125...

      The key to lawn jockeys is the base. the football shaped base ornaments are 95% of the time the real deal. They are being remade and usually with a oval or even a square base. The story of these is actually pretty cool and dates back to George Washington, yes the president. Originally used for lamps, but could be used for several different things.
