This was my mom's favorite pen, and it is mine as well.
I can't tell you too much about it.
i think it says 1/80 12k rpg casing some crown symbol Sheaffer and usa. But the numbers and letters are hard to read so it may not be exact.
It's a ballpoint, and I absolutely love the design on it, and my mom had it with her every day of my childhood until she passed on. I'm guessing she bought it in the 50's or 60's.
I've always loved pens. I don't pretend that I collect them. I just love them in general, and this one in particular.
I've even had it repaired before by the company. Truth is I'd really like to know what the design is called and when it was made.
Were they popular at the time? When could you buy them?
The inset reminds me or grapes and leaves.
I haven't seen anything like them, though I've tried to buy something similar for gifts. I'm guessing they aren't made that way anymore.
The clip on the pen activates the ball point to come out and retract.
Anything anyone could tell me about it would be greatly appreciated. I ended up being the only writer in the family, so naturally the pen went to me.
Even if I can't buy this pen anywhere but a auction house I'd like to buy another one for my writing partner over the years if they aren't too expensive. Where could I find one similar to it? If not an older pen, then maybe a modern one of similar design.
I have the exact same style but in sterling. Found at an estate sale.
I have the same gold pen (but in better shape) and it also belong to my mom.
