I do love Strombergshyttan stuff, but it is so difficult to date it! It is hard to tell when they were made. Some designs look really 30s and ArtDéco-ish and it's known Gerda Strömberg started designing for her company in 1933, the very same year she and her husband Edvard created it. Also, apart from some pieces designed by Gunnar Nylund is really difficult to identify the designers: Gerda Strömberg, Asta Strömberg...

Could anyone help with this items?

Hi austro! when tou have a look at the Swedish site look out for the opinions of a guy/girl "Rebello"!
He/she grew up in Lindesfors and knew the whole site and those involved in the later period.

This was a comment that I made earlier this year.

For the vases, catalogue number B868. B329, an earlier design from the 1930's or early 1940's wich in catalogue seems to have similar form/shape but with not so marked corners of the triangle, has my father atrributetd to Gerda Stromberg. I think Asta Stromberg has developed this design in B868 with more marked corners. The ashtry and cigarette holder has number H89. This model has no predecessor in the catalogues I have, but I think Asta got the idea for them herself. I don't find anything among Gunnar Nylunds drawings from the 1950's similar to this form. His models seem during this time (B868 are from the 1950s) have wilder and more irregular shapes in the drawings that have been preserved.

By the way, signature rebello was my uncle (my fathers brother). Turn rebello and you get OlleBer (Olle Bergqvist). My signature rebessin is turned off "Nisse Ber" (Nils Bergqvist). My father Putte died in 2007 and Olle autumn 2011. Asta Stromberg died in late 2011 and my mother winter/spring 2012. Much knowledges about Strömbergshytttan disappeared with them. But I try as best I can to spread my own knowledge to interested peoples. And I got great help from my brother and some others who worked at Stromberg foundry. One of the last master blowers, Hilbert Karlsson, died just before Christmas 2012. I worked with him for a short period around the 1975. I have two glasblowers in glass model, made by him in the last days before Strombergshyttan closed down in 1979 signed by him. They are very worthy for me. Fortunately there are more workers left in life that I can get information from about Strombergshyttans glass.

Sad that all that knowledge is gone, and good that you continue. What I am really missing about former glass factories is that it would be good to have the catalogues published online! This would help so much!

Thanks SO MUH for sharing your knowledge with us. As I wrote here yesterday, it's so good all this information will remain here for others to see.

Maybe a website dedicated to Strömbergshyttan could be of help :)
