Looks like military tents in background, & man in centre is in uniform.
yep, could be a military school, maybe a prison team. Everyone back then had a traveling baseball team, even some religious cults. what is on the back of the postcard? I would guess the I 18 indicates the military unit they belonged to
bats and gloves appear to be post 1910, but it is hard to tell. probably 1920's
I enhanced the photo & posted it on flickr you can do a screen capture of it to keep & I will remove it.

thanks I wonder if it could be the 18th infantry division baseball team? I found some pics of other infantry divisions that had teams, they are later. here is a link

Where is scottvez when you need him, he should be able to ID the uniform.
No doubt, I am far from an expert, but it is probably WWI and most likely military. I love baseball and the different uniforms, but that time period there are so many.
Thank you all for your input on this pic!!
There isnt anything on the back of this pic!!
I can't see any buttons or insignia on his uniform.
yeah, that is interesting, maybe basic training? or maybe he is the warden and its a prison team? Or he just didn't put them on for the team pic?
If it is postmarked that would be a clue. Uniform of the coach is army circa WWI so my guess would be possibly an inter state summer camp or war games and these guys would be from the Illinois, Indiana or Iowa 18th regt.
HI Militarist..There is no postmark or writings on the back of this card. Thanks for your imfor. Wm
Agree with other posts appears to be WW1 era military team.
I would think the "18" represents a regiment and the "I" may represent the Company.
Great subject matter, too bad about the damage.
