I got this some years ago when a local firm went out of business, I have never seen another like it. it runs on windows'98. I was told that the company was sued for millions by Apple and as a result went bust !! Ridiculous really as it was hardly in competition with the Mac.

These computers look really vintage, I think it was really cool to have one in 1980. Interestingly, using these computers to access the Internet?

emachine was actually bought out by Gateway. The problem with the emachine that ruined the company is their computers would go into hibernate mode and never recover and wake up. For some reason they were never able to correct the problem. When the change of ownership occurred things turned around and it became a reliable machine. Acer finally bought out Gateway and they did away with the emachine line in 2013. emachine was the absolute bottom line of the computer industry, it was a Korean brand originally.
