Roadhouse
(1 item)
I found this old Budwiser sign in the crawl space of an old tavern that I remodeled about 20 years ago. The librarian at the Anthauser Busch library in St.Louis sent me a tear sheet copy from 1934 picturing and identifying the sign as A/B's first post prohibtion advertising outdoor sign. (This may be viewed at www.rhouse.org under "Our Bud Sign" icon.)
The problem is, I really don't know what I've got? The people who own the local Budwiser Distributorship state they believe, "It's the only one in captivity." Appraisers tell me they have never seen one in a private collection or at an auction. I have the piece crated and in a secure location to prevent the glass lenses from being damaged. What have I got, should I bother?
Signed,
Curious Tavern owner

To roadrelics....have you ever seen or heard of one of these signs selling at auction or privately, if so what was the value? Should I insure it?

I’ve seen a few of these for sale at auction in recent memory. It is from the 1930s. What are your plans with the sign?
@BudweiserKing88 You're treading very close to being reported.
