How did you decide it was Betsy Ross? If you blow up the image and invert the colors it doesn't say Betsy Ross.

Could be a civil war token..Good for a certain proprietor.

GOOGLE IMAGES ...CIVIL WAR TOKENS...YOU WILL SEE MAJORITY OF THEM HAVE THIRTEEN STARS...HOWEVER YOURS MAY BE EARLIER, OR IF IT IS EARLIER IT COULD HAVE BEEN CASTED...THESE TOKENS WERE GOOD FOR PROPRIETORS, AND YOURS MAY HAVE BEEN FOR TAILORING, BUT AS I SAY SEND A EMAIL TO STACKS COIN AUCTIONS TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE, AND DON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE IF YOU CANNOT POSITIVELY IDENTIFY. LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN CLEANED...AND FOR INSTANCE IF IT WAS WORTH $200,000, NOW IT WOULD BE WORTH $20,000. ALWAYS PUT COINS IN A SPECIMEN HOLDER, AFTER RINSING OFF DIRT TO IDENTIFY, THEN GET IT IDENTIFIED IF YOU CANNOT LOCATE ONLINE OR BOOK. GOOD LUCK, AND I WILL KEEP RESEARCHING...I AM A METAL DETECTORIST.

ross was the woman known to have sewed the flag together as in many ross photos in the rocking chair with stripes laying down to the lap to the floor but never the correct rocking chair in other sittings, although close.

I have recently acquired an identical coin, could someone please let me know what it is, as I am having difficulties identifying it myself. Thank you

This is a game counting token usually called a jeton. Probably dates from 1830 -60's. Most have "keep your temper" and are British. This one is an American version and has "Keep your calm. These are not rare and condition is important so this one is just an interesting conversation piece with little or no cash value to speak of.
