Let me start with a quote from the last page of Bill Ports' book.

"We fully understand that this book contains some errors. Our hope is that the reader who recognizes historical and reference errors will share them with us so that we might correct them in a second edition."

It is in this vein that I wish to share what I have learned. I welcome any additional information that you, the reader, may add.

Bill Ports starts out with a " Pottery Ownership Dateline". It begins 1910 to 1913 or 1914 Fredericksburg Pottery Company.

My research uncovered these bits of information. In 1909 an Ohio State inspection report mentions an inspection at FPC. "Brick" magazine says in it's 1909 edition that FPC operations will start early. The Articles of Incorporation are listed in 1910. Finally, The Ohio Tax Comission Report says the property sold at a receiver's sale on 6/5/1911.

Saw a black version of the train online while checking into the info you gave me Savoychina1 about my two Shanghai vases. The style of the painting and the black glaze look dead on to the vases. Thanks again ! -Mike-
