Yesterday afternoon my wife went outside to see what in the world our miniature Dachshund was digging around about. Well, this ring was in the pile of dirt he excavated.
It is 14K gold with two dolphins holding the stone. Why did I spend all that money on my metal detectors, I have a dog that sniffs out gold!
Not a high dollar ring, but more then I have found lately.
The only things I have found in this yard are old rusty tools, nails, nuts, bolts, old spark plugs and pop tops.
enjoy
Oh Packrat you found my ring !!!!!!! I knew I dropped it there . Thank your dog and you can send to me right away LOL I love it !!!!!!!!!! What a super find . Nice doggy he gets a treat for that one !
Mani...SHHHHHH, don't give away our secret, just kidding. Thank you for the love and nice comment.
BELLIN68, you are up late tonight and thank you also for the love and nice comment. I will give that photo thing some serious consideration.
Thank you mrcolorz for the love.
Have a good night, my friend, see you tomorrow.
Never mind sending back the Mani's ring, lol just send the dog, just kidding Mani. Nice find Pack
Hey Kerry I am afraid of dogs !!!!! Just getting my ring back that I lost will work better :-) Don't worry packrat I won't tell mum is the word here LOL
After a story like that, I just have to love this ring!
Thanks for posting the heartwarming tale,....and give the dog a kiss for me:)
Now if only I could train the cats to find something like that, instead of throwing everything, and many nice things, out of reach under the stove,....it's like their little Smithsonian under there.
Thank you very much mrcolorz, Manikin, BELLIN68, walksoftly, kerry10456, vanskyock24, scandinavian_pieces, Budek & PhilDavidAlexanderMorris.
I will take a photo of Quinn and have an update soon.
Thank you everybody for looking.
Budek, move the stove, you might be a rich man!!!
Gotta love it. How did you clean it up so fast?
fhrjr2,
Thank you for looking. Just soap & water and an old toothbrush.
To bad this site doesn't allow free expression. My thread on learning research was deleted. I suspect a thread on learning to clean finds would meet the same end. They did reply and told me I wasn't the first to suggest it!!! SO who is listening to members????
Tied to an object, I'd think you'd be good to go.
Educational posts tied to an antique/ collectible would certainly fit the "Show and Tell" category.

I think cleaning is important part of learning . I am wondering about cleaning a Pearl in soap and water . We want to learn so please share fhrjr2 on these piece . Since it is mine as I dropped it at packrats house I want to be sure he did it right :-)
Does that mean your dog just proposed to you? What a nice present from the pooch! Very sweet story, Mich
I'm pretty sure I sold that ring on E-Bay to a customer named Fido Spot. His CC did not go through...blast it... yeah, yeah, that's the story, and i'm stickin' to it... Mich
Michelle, with that wonderful comment you made me smile:)
and Packrat, if I move the stove I probably will be a rich man indeed.
Lucky, the tuxedo kitty, steals my pens, pencils, brushes,....anything shiny.
and she parades in front of the stove if you look interested in what's underneath it.
It's hysterical, really.
Have a great night everyone!
I guess even little kitties need their "secret garden", too!! Mich
I don't see how soap & water could hurt it, then, on the other hand, I am not a jewelry guy either. I do not even know for sure if it is a pearl. I jumped the gun here, I should have done some preliminary investigation into cleaning methods, as I only want the best for YOUR ring, Mani!!!
You are correct, cleaning and restoration are a very important aspect of all of our mutual interests. We all have various tricks and methods pertaining to certain areas we have picked up over the years, and I feel a forum just to discuss and share methods would be great.
Thank you very much for visiting michelleamieux, Budek, Manikin, scottvez, fhrjr2, PhilDavidAlexanderMorris, BELLIN68, scandinavian_pieces , lsjewels, vanskyock24, kerry10456, walksoftly & mrcolorz for visiting and your input.
Thank you very much Hedgewalker for the love.
Thank you very much toracat
Gee this post showed up today I think to remind pack it has never arrived here :-) no need to clean it . I guess the dog re buried it huh and when I lost it there he is guarding it from me :-(
Must be lost in the mail! Lost twice, amazing.
Darn mail service anyway . Maybe I will send my 4ft parrot out looking for it :-)
No Mani, it's my ring. I was walking my dog by his house, when the damn ring fell off. I live "almost" right around the block from him. LOL
PS. So Return to Sender! LOL
Oh Kathy but I lost it on a visit there before you moved next to him lol
Oh Mani, I made a mistake I said I was walking my dog. How silly of me, I don't even have a dog. I was walking my DOLLS! LOL
LOL Kathy I was metal detecting at packs :-)
OK you GOT Me! I'll have to somehow just claim the other two pieces of jewelry he just put on CW. LOL
Geeee....for a minute there I thought I was getting real popular, then I realized it was the ring and the dog... oh well.................back to obscurity.
Pack you are real popular all the girls want a ring by the popular guy :-) even if they want their lost ring back lol
