      Looks like hollow ware.

Can buy precious metal testing kits on amazon for cheap. Spoons look like dift pattern. Do they have marks on the forks?

DM: And they look like another example of holloware.

I have pounds and pounds of vintage silverplate flatware and some sterling in the lot. I can't figure out which are the sterling pieces.

Yes...They are marked 800 (holloware) and are gold washed..
I have them up in my ebay store now...now that I know they are from 20-30's

      Thanks!

I think you posted these before. No? Before you put them on eBay? Seem familiar. Didn't know what the yellow metal was then tho.'

Hi..Yes I posted them here..because I needed to know what they were!!
I was lucky to find some like this on Ebay and the person told me what I had.
I thought ends were brass because of the tiny green marks on some pieces...but apparently a Gold Wash..will wear the same..
And I didn't look close enough..but the handles are stamped 800.
I'm not toosure how this site works...so...can someone tell me ...am Isuppose to take down the pictures when the mystery is solved? (LOL)
      I Thank ALL!!

Sterling should say sterling or 925 or 800 otherwise consider it plated... thought it probably will be stamped EPNS, A1 or Silverplate if it is plated. I also have some holloware that is not marked so understand the dilemma.

I'd say leave it up for a while so others can learn from your query... but don't know the rules. Thanks for sharing this interesting set.

800 pertaiains to the silver content,925,950,are percentage of alloy in the silver ,so 800 is good quality, had a few european pieces, and also had a mexican piece once with the 800 mark.
