I have found no information on the watch at this time and would like your help. I have a chance at buying this watch and I would like to find as
much about this watch as I can. It is a repeater and appears to be gold but I have found no marking or serial number on the case or movement.. The lever for the repeater is just below the dial of the watch. The watch is in full working order. I can see about 10 jewels in the movement. It is ingraved on the inside, 25th december 1944, It says For My Friend which is in spanish and the name C.H. Hicks. Below C. H. Hicks I cannot make out what it says. I think that the watch is older than when it was ingraved. It is the nicest watch I have ever seen. I need to come up with a fair offer for it and have no ideal what would be fair to offer. If one of you have any idea of the history or what a fair value might be Please Let Me know. Thank You for viewing the pictures and any help you could give.
Hi,
It appears to be a Swiss-made hi-grade movement. I count at least 18-jewels. It is jeweled through the hammers. I cannot tell if it is a minute repeater or a quarter-hour repeater or if it is solid gold or just gold-filled. I also cannot tell if it is a push or slide repeater or the exact size. I would think a fair asking price would be $2500. and possibly higher with more information. It should be possible to identify the maker by studing the movement more closely. Jim (This Old Watch)
Thank You for your comments on this watch. I can add more infro on the watch. It is a solid gold case. It is a quarter hour repeater which is a level slide type. The size I dont know for sure, but the movement is about the size of a half dollar. I cannot find any numbers or name on the watch case or movement. I am wanting
the watch but dont know what a fare offer on the watch should be. I feel that it is
a rare watch and it still works fine. It is a friend that owns the watch and it has been in his family for many years. thanks Jim
