Found this on craigslist here in Portland for $35 - the man selling it said his wife hated the chair, and that it needed to go. It seemed like it was one of his favorite chairs and didn't really want to sell it.
I love it! I have two very similar to it. Mine don't have the headrest section, so they're not quite as tall and the leather is in better condition. I had the cushions plumped up for a very reasonable price by a local reupholsterer. If it's like mine, there's a zipper in the back of the lower & upper cushions, making it easy to access.

I just got one for $80 from a junk dealer who got it at a storage locker auction. Similar ones sell on eBay for $600 - $800. This one's teal with black wood and in great shape. I never saw those colors on a "Siesta" chair before. Does anyone know when it would have been made (no tags to tell from). I already have another one that I restored to the original color. The seller didn't know leather could be recolored and 5 years earlier had them recovered in new leather - for more than the chair cost new!
I was GIVEN an identical chair but with brown leather about 10 years ago. It had the matching ottoman too. This was before I was aware of Danish and Mid-century. It was really uncomfortable to sit in. Had it for a couple of years and sold it cheap at a garage sale when I lost a piece of hardware that held the legs together. :(
Hey All,
Hope that someone out there can give me a hand. I have two of these chairs, (the back isn't quite as tall). Anyway, my sister shipped them to and had to take them apart to do so. In transit, the screws and bolts that hold them together were lost. Any idea where I can get replacements.

William can get replacement bolts at a hardware store such as ACE, you will need a hex key set to tighten them.
I have the exact chairs that Marquis bought, paid $800 for the pair in Milwaukee about five years ago. The papers I have said they were made in the early 1960's and that is the color and style mine are.
I need a new black canvas liner with groumetts for the low style Siesta chair. I purchased 2 of these chairs in 1972, they have been the center piece of my living room. The canvas liner that the leather rests on has dryrotted and has torn away from several groumetts. Rather than trying to repair this problem I was hoping the find a good used liner in black. I had a chair exactly like that from the early eighties bought from Scandinavian Interiors. Verrry comfortable. I gave it to a friend and now I believe it's in her garage (if she hasn't given it away).
I have a vintage Siesta chair and ottoman in black leather that was destroyed (leather cushions) by my (son's) dog. Can cushions be repaired or replaced and who might do it? Thank you.
We have several Siesta Chairs bought years back at yard sales very cheap, and all in good condition, but only one has the cushions, which were worn but sound. When I found out recently how much they are worth, and just having done some leather "re-dying" on a couch, I did the cushion on the chair (high back). It worked great and very easy, but it depends on how badly the dog damaged them. Surface scratches can be covered relatively easy but cuts will be much harder. I used Meltonian Spray Dye (really a paint for Leather as most furniture is top coated). Surface prep is important. Simply wipe down gently with Paint thinner or Alcohol to deglaze the old finish, before painting. Better to use light , multiple coats and allow to dry between , but does dry quickly. I would advise using a finish coat to protect. I got the supplies from a Shoe Repair guy, but many kits are available on-line. If the leather is torn up, you have a bigger problem. You could try an automotive leather repair but I have not tried that, and overall, might better to have a professional restorer do that , but can be expensive. Now that the chairs are being manufactured again, you might be able to find replacements soon. Search the Net.
I have a chair and ottoman that have a problem. I broke one side of the wooden frame on the chair when I moved to Atlanta and I am interested in replacing the chair frame with or without the leather pads. I also have the ottoman in beige colored leather. I need a replacment wooden side leg or a complte frame to complete my set. Any ideas for parts or a full frame.
