Hello Friends,
This looks like a Lisa Larson kitty, but do you think it is?
When I saw it in the shop,( this afternoon ), my heart jumped!
I've been wanting one of the larger cats for a long time, always missing the high bid, ( on ebay ),....hopefully this one will lead me to it's leader.
It's about 3 1/8 inches high 3 inches long, with holes pricked through the top and a stopper hole on the bottom.
I guess it's a pomade, or potpourri holder, ( does have a light fragrance ). I couldn't find any such Larson cat in my research.
Unsigned, so I'm not sure if it's a Larson, or an adorable imposter.
Thanks for any comments,
and for looking,
Tony.
Dear Bellin,
Thank You for your comment, breaking the news so delicately:)
Someday my kitty will come along,.....I'll be passing out cigars!
Thanks for putting up with my inexperience,
Sweet dreams all,
Tony.
This is a wonderful community of friends,
I find all of the kindness and generosity encouraging.
You're as fine as they come, Bellin,
thanks for being a friend,
T.
Hello Scandinavian Pieces, it's always a pleasure to hear from you and Thank You for the comment on this lovely little piece. If you'd like it for your collection I'd be happy to send it to you, truly.
Yes, he's made of terra cotta,.....I thought that might be a problem, since I didn't think that any of the Lisa Larson cats were made of that. It's still a sweet little thing.
I also bought, ( at a different shop, yesterday ), a swedish frosted glass cat who's just as handsome as can be,( I believe the sticker said 'NYBO'?). It's a nice size and in spiffy condition.
Thank You again for your comment and your kind words,
Best wishes for a very good week-end,
Tony.
Sorry to tell you Budek, but this is a Chiapet. Not kidding. Here is a link:

Hello Amber, Thanks for the comment.
That's not bad news,....just adds to the fun adventure of it all.
It should've occurred to me, but sometimes I walk around 1/2 blind.
He's still a cute little kitty!
Have a great week-end, Amber,
T.
I love Chiapets! I just noticed the holes and came to that same conclusion AmberRose!
scandi... chia pets usually use chia seeds; this the name chia pet. Tho' O suppose other seeds/plants would work as well.
He is adorable, and frankly I think someone at the Chia factory has a Lisa Larson collection!
Happy St. Pats!
"CHIA PET" ONE OF THOSE PLANTERS YOU SMEAR WITH A SPECIAL PASTE POUR ON THE SEEDS AND GRASS "HAIR" GROWS ALL OVER IT. THAT IS WHY THE SCORING ALL OVER TO RECEIVE THE PASTE AND THE AIR HOLES. YOU POUR WATER OVER IT. THAT IS WHY THE CORK AT THE BOTTOM. ABOUT $5- OR $6.00. CUTE LITTLE GAG GIFT ITEM WHICH KIDS LOVED.
I have this cute fella and it has a plastic bottom (missing from yours). Stamped in the plastic it says "MADE FOR COTY IN TAIWAN"...mystery solved. I can say that it is not Lisa Larson (although face is copied from her) and not a chia pet - it is a pomander for potpourri or scented powder to go in a drawer or closet.
Very cute feline.
