Can anyone tell me when these scissors were made? I am sure they are not from the original commeration in the late 1800's. Also if anyone knows of their value since I just purchased them at an auction and fear I may have paid far to much. Any information would be appreciated.

Check out ebay. According to the pair like yours, (there are two pairs I saw on ebay) yours is from a later date. The seller stated that the originals were signed. The other pair I noticed had two names on the scissors. Hope this helps some. Very nice looking.

I also had a pair once. They were made in the city of Solingen which was a center for the manufacture iof knives, and cutting items of all types. I believe the scissors commemorate the Kaiser's 25th wedding anniv. circa 1905. I doubt that they are rare since over the years I have seen a number of them. I would also doubt that any repros exist. Value would be moderate, my guess would be 25.00 in nice used condition.
