I have been trying to find the designer and manufacturer of this Heavy Mid Century Modern Desk Lamp. It has elements of designs by Fase, Desky and Dazor. I have googled the image and cannot find this particular lamp. It is heavy quality construction with brass and painted elements. It has a heavy 1/4" thick glass disfuser on the top, that has a hand blown feel to it, with ripples, bubbles and frosted around the edge. It has no marks either on the bottom or inside. It is 13" tall and 13" wide. If any one has info or ideas on this lamp it would be appreciated. Thanks
Thanks BELLIN for the love. I hope someone has some leads on identifying this lamp. I wonder when they started making the hallo light tubes?
If you are refering to halogen lighting, here is a little info.
"U.S. Patent 2,883,571 was granted to Elmer Fridrich and Emmett Wiley for a tungsten halogen lamp - an improved type of incandescent lamp - in 1959. A better halogen light lamp was invented in 1960 by General Electric engineer Fredrick Moby. Moby was granted U.S. Patent 3,243,634 for his tungsten halogen A-lamp that could fit into a standard lightbulb socket. During the early 1970s, General Electric research engineers invented improved ways to manufacture tungsten halogen lamps."
Thanks for the info packrat, but i was actually refering to the hallo shaped florescent bulb in this lamp (shown in the 4th pic). But thanks for the input.
No magnifying aspect to this lamp. Glass seems to be handblown, with frosting on the outer perimeter.
