Got this clock many years ago. My professional clock repairman says it probably was made prior to 1850. Any other information from anyone so I may learn more about it?

He has us at a disadvantage, he's seen the insides, we haven't..........that's where all of the info is.
Seth Thomas and Sons was a viable division of the Seth Thomas Clock Co. from 1865 through early 1879, so I would think that your clock was probably made some time within that time period ( if everything is original as pictured.)
Thanks Bruce99. I added a picture of the inside of the clock. I`ll look into the innards more closely with a magnifying glass and photograph anything that adds any more details.

It looks like your clock topper is an Ansonia model "No. 1008 Harpist" circa 1904. If so, it would measure 7 1/2" in height.
I'm not finding your clock case in any of my references, but based on some similarities I would tend to think that it might be close to circa 1870 - 1875 but I'm not certain. If I run across anything in the future, I'll try to let you know. It's a beautiful clock.

I am not sure the topper was part of the original clock but it came with it when purchased. I`ll check further on the inside. Much obliged Bruce.

I don't think that the Harpist is original to the clock. According to my references it was made about 25 years or so after the clock. It's still a genuine antique. It's unusual when a removable clock topper was purchased along with the clock and and you find them still together a century later.
Sorry I couldn't be more specific, but like I said if I run across some more information I'll try to post it here, plus there are a lot of collectors here. Perhaps someone knows this clock and will see your posting.
