I bought this a number of years ago and always considered it a precious little piece,( it's about 3 1/4 inches in diameter ).
The cover doesn't fit well, and there are a few chips to the inside rim of the base, but it conjures up a history in my thoughts.
The mark on the bottom is beautiful, and there are a couple of words written in pencil.
I remember not having any luck when I tried researching it in the past and was hoping it might ring a bell with somebody here.
Thanks,
T
These days Via Torino, 34, Milano houses Extyn a Casual clothing shop. This is pretty central Milano. Check out the address on Google maps. The second of the words in pencil is Italia, perhaps the first is Milano? There's no mention of G. Lorini in the ceramics section. Was it for soap, shaving soap? It's a shape familiar to me for that purpose. The Italian word for a shepherd is "pastore' or "pastorello". Looking for connections.
Thank You Packrat, and Thank You Kevin, that's a brilliant idea,.....funny that it didn't occur to me to look up the address!:)
I hope you're both having a great day,
Tony
