These are two cabinet cards, the left one is of my Great, Great Grandfather, Eugene Lincoln Reed (1860-1920). The one on the right is of, his wife, my Great, Great Grandmother, Kathrine Edmondson (White) Reed (1861-1945). The back of the photo of Katherine says that she is twenty years old, would this fit for the time that the photo was probably taken?
Their granddaughter has two large photos that hang on the wall of each of them. The photo of Kathrine is the same, but the one of Eugene is like that of his wife's, a "portrait shot." They're probably from the same time.
How can I find out information on the photographer, Cheney & Lawson?
Any information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!
I found it listed as Cheney S. Lawson in several places.
Your cabinet card is typical of the 1880s- 1890s time period, so the information on the back would seem to fit.

I wish that I had that small table that he is standing beside.
It's wonderful that you have photos of your GG Grandparents, thanks for sharing.
Hey, antiquesareamazing, when I saw the name REED I thought you might be related to my husband. I found your Eugene on ancestry.com--his gr grandfather was George Reed (1680-1765) but my husband's ancestor is George Read (1719-1789). Some folks spelled their name Reed, some changed to Read. It's been confusing creating a family tree. Anyway, I love your pics and I know having photos of your great-grandparents is a treasure. Also, I agree with walksoftly, I wish I had the table!
