Thank you bratjdd, you're welcome.
I love this kind of Shades in this colour . I read in a Book thet this kind of work was do at the end ou the work by the artist and take all the small pieces of glass in different colour and melt in the oven to not less glass pieces . Do you Knows some ? or is a Metropolitan-legend ?

*sorry for my English... terrible.
Hello, Hornet.
Again, thank you very much for your iterest and comment.
Well, as far as I know these kind of shades were indeed made from glass parts left over from a working day,
All the pieces were put in a mold and melted down.
This is why they are called 'end of day' shades.
Very interesting "end of the day shades" so it's True . Fantastic Thanks a lot Marc .
You're shade collection is very impressive Marc !!!!!!
Thank you, Hedgewalker.
There is more to come....!!
I believe this one is old but was shocked to see this shade (or similar) is being reproduced.

I had been wondering about this as have seen quite a lot lately especially down here in OZ . they are being added to otherwise cheaper lamps, some just made up and bringing big $$$'s .
This looks genuine as the ends are sharper then the repros which look rounded to me .
Caviat emptor !
Oh and yes thanks Charlie for bringing this to our attention
No problem Marty! I'm sure Art Deco style lamp bases are reproduced as well.
The spatter decor on the new star shades is made up of more consistently sized colored dots and is not marbled like this example. Whatever the proper terminology is they are easier to pick out if you know they exist and know what to look for. : ) Here's a rack of reproduction shades to view the difference. Notice that the star shades all have the same decor / coloring.
