This is a Cabinet Card that is in with my family photos, I don't know who it is. It's not identified and It's not the same child in any other photos that I have.
My Great, Great, Great Grandmother had a younger sister who died at the age of 4, Effie Prudence Mitchell (1882-1887), could it be her?
Could this be a boy? I think boys wore dresses when they were little children back then...
Is this just from the 1880s-1890s? Could the clothing help find a more specific date?
Anyone with information, please help me out...
I've found photographer E.E. Kendall in New Straitsville, OH in 1891.
The photograph itself is consistent with the 1880s- 1890s.
Your posted image doesn't show a great deal of details, so I cannot make a determination on it being a boy or girl. You are correct about many boys of this age wearing dresses.
It certainly could be Effie.

It says he was a photographer from 1896-97. If this is the case, it could be my Great, Great Grandmother.
As you can tell, I'm not very good at identifying photos that aren't already identified.
Thanks for the confirmation about the dates/ dresses!
I just noticed something else!!
This is a photo of my Great, Great Grandmother when she's a baby, there's no photographer on this one, but she's in the same chair! It very well could be the same dress too...
