This photograph is an 8" X 10" and the photo studio hand painted it to make it appear as a color photograph.
This style was very popular during and after the war.
The soldier has blue piping on his garrison cap indicating that he was in the Infantry. The branch insignia on his lapel has been obscured with the gold paint.
His blue eyes really stand out.
Thanks for looking.

These colorized photo's can be interesting. I have one of my dad in his 101st airborne uniform which shows the tab on his shoulder patch in BLUE !! The photographer must have just done one for the 82nd which is blue and assumed that the 101st was also blue. Also have a black and white photo of him that was printed with a flipped neg.
Militarist-- I'd love to see the photo of your Dad, if you'd care to share.
