"Sevres Style” French porcelain hand painted 2" by 1-1/2" floral box.
Brass mounting.
Collectors must beware of forgeries. Trained eye can tell in many cases the age and authenticity of a purported Sevres china piece by examining the detail, coloration, and artistry without even viewing the Sevres mark on the underside. In this case, ``L`` would mean very early 1750 production with crossed "L" 's, also referred to as "double-Louis".
Not authentic Sevres, of course, but appealing little box.
SHOWN TO HELP AVOIDING MISTAKES WITH UNSCRUPULOUS DEALERS.
DO NOT RELY ON MARKS – LOOK AT THE CLOSE-UP OF THE DÉCOR IN THIS CASE; IT CANNOT BE SEVRES.
JUST LOOK AT THIS ON eB…….
THIS IS IT!
