These 4 pieces are typical of Signe Persson-Melin's designs, which is famous for her work in glass and cork.
I first got one of her designs just for chance... I was buying some stuff from a Swedish dealer and she told me about that morning's finds and fell in love with he corck stopper (pic. 1): it's made of a piece of actual turning cork, not just agglomerate cork as one can see in modern designs in this material. I take this as a show of the work in those years: quality stuff made with the real first-class materials...
I don't know the names of the designs in the two first pictures (if they have one), but I know the jug on the third picture is a Kvadrat. I quite like this design based upon simple traditional shapes.
The first picture to the left shows a decanter from the Bouquet-series, the middle photo shows what in Swedish is called "jungfru" (= virgin) or "brännvingumma" (= hard to translate ... I'd suggest something like brandy trull :) ...).
Persson-Melin's cork-objects aren't only beautiful but also very functional: her ice bucket out of cork uses the insulating effect of cork just as much as cork handles on her oven ware do.
Thanks so much for your help, designqvist!!! Thanks to you I've been able to identify quite a lot of pieces now!!!
By the way, from now on I will reffer to the two in the middle pic as jungfru... brännvingumma seemd too complicated to me!!! LOL
Thanks AGH!!!!
