    Just came across what seems to be authentic vintage chanel... still has black cord around top! bottom of box reads number 511001 does anyone know what this stands for? thanks!

      I'm not sure what you consider "vintage", but it's no older than from the mid-'60s. I know next to nothing about vintage perfume, but I always have loved Chanel #5. It's gorgeous! Sorry I'm not more help.

      Lovely! Not much help with the number - I think series batch number. I have one of these but not as full - great find!
