The mandolin is a Kay, serial number 64464 and says 4h in it. It is also in it's originakl case. Any idea of it's value?
Thanks,
Sherry Reed

Depending upon it's condition, maybe $200-$300. Kay instruments (especially some of the bass fiddles and old guitars) are definitely collectible. The look of the case seems to date it sometime in the 50's. But, don't take my word for it... do a little research and see what you find.

Thanks! Checking it out now!
My father (86 years old) has an old mandolin that we're trying to find the value of. Here's the details:
On the inside it says: GUANANTEED PERFECT SCALE; VICTORIA; BEST AMERICAN MAKE; B. & J. NEW YORK
It is a flat back with 8 strings.
The only thing I have been able to find out about B & J is that it stands for Buegeleisen & Jacobson, New York
Thanks,
Pat
