Found this in the bottom of an old sewing box. Is it from the 1950's?

Found in old sewing box. It is unopened and in good condition. I have tried to research it but have had not luck. Other items like this had a company name on the from...not this one. Any ideas as to its age?

The small print on the back at the bottom says: Michael Stevens Division, SNAG-PRUF ZIPPER Corp., 525 West 52nd Street, New York, N.Y. Dritz does not appear anywhen on this item. That's why I was curious about it.
