This was my grandfathers (on my dad's side). He was a WWII Army Sargent. Not sure when this guitar is from, but I'm sure it's pre-60's. He toured with The Dave Aken (Aiken?) Band. If anyone has an idea who that is, or any input on the guitar it would be appreciated!

Cool Guitar!!! Does it have a Manufacturer name anywhere on it?? Looks as tho it had a whammy lever on it back when. Any markings on the twin pickups?? Looks like it has individual pickup switches If you find any name on the Guitar anywhere, post again with all the close-up details

thanks! but no, no markings at all! short of taking it apart and looking where the pieces meet... for all i kno it could be custom made?

Cool guitar! The pickups look like early 70's Gibson mini humbuckers, I had some in a 73' SG. If you could remove the screws and take a picture of the back of the pickup, that would tell me what they are. The rest of the guitar looks like a Japanese made Tiesco Del Ray or something similar made in Japan. Judging on the the style, it looks to be early 70's. I have that same bridge on my Tiesco Tulip, but not with that tremolo. I've owned a few Japanese made guitars that lost their glued on plastic logo's and their serial numbers are on stickers so if someone were to peel them off, there would be no markings at all. Ill send it off to some friends that collect these type of guitars.

a friend of mine looked at this on the outside.. still not 100% but he told me:
"not a fender looks like its definitley 70"s and looks like gibson pickups"
      any input on that?

Ill bet its a Japanese made Tiesco w/ Gibson mini's in it. If its not a Tiesco, its definately Japanese. If you are looking for a $ value, the pickups are worth more than anything else. Hope that helps.

totaly custom ash body, gibson soapbar vintage;fender neck,,, maple, this neck may have been replaced, in the 70's may have used bridge, from whatever, my guess,,,its a family heirloom,,,dont sell or even touch the pickup screws unless your experienced with it,, people just want to sat. their curiosity not caring about your instrament . bet its a player !
