trunkman

Dad was having so much fun with his trunks that trunk-boy wanted in on the action. So we found a suitable trunk to refinish. He took off the canvas, sanded and scrapped the wood, used steel wood on the steel straps, polished the brass tacks and stained it a nice walnut finish with a coat of satin finish. The third picture is the "before" shot which he took himself. Now he is all excited about it and getting ready for the next one. I am not sure who had the most fun between the two of us -- a great project to do together!
Thanks Bell -- but you put the "cool" bar pretty high with your tie shot!!!
It's nice that your son is interested in what you are doing & learning from it as well
Thanks walksoftly, it is a real joy to be working on this together.
Thanks as well to guyframtal, kerri1046, bratjdd, toolate2 and the gatekeeper!
Trunkboy thanks Lundy and official fuel.
Thanks Phil for the comment, and scandinvianpieces, trgrubaugh, and longings for the upvote. My son is thrilled with the response...
Great project! Turned out nicely.
beautiful!
Thanks boonsborotrunks, Bruce99 and jojomang for the visit and great comments!
Thanks DrFluffy for the love. (love your moniker by the way -- brings me a smile every time I see it). DrFluffy -- just fun to say. I wanted to change mine to "Trunkmonkey" but they would not let me. Stuck with trunkman.... bit boring.
Thanks Phil... a great memory for me...
My youngest -- he took a lot of pride in doing this project and was happy to sell this particular trunk and reap the rewards of his efforts. The trunk bug didn't stick with him but the memory will...
