Looking to find out some information. Its a beautiful plate the was given to me by my mother in law. She dorsnt remember where it came from and I would love to know more about it. Its cobalt blue with gold inlay. The peacock itself is brilliant and the work is beyond anything I have ever seen.
WOW, how did I miss THIS!? What a beautiful plate! I have never seen that peacock mark with what looks Arabic characters (at least to my untrained eye) before. I'll be anxious to see what you find out about this!
You will find it in Morocco. Almost everyone in Morocco has one of this plate. Very popular but expensive too.
The originals are expensive but the copies are very cheap.
Morocco, huh?? May I ask how you can tell the original from the copies? The mark isn't at all familiar to me and I'd like to know more about it! :-)
I have this exact blue plate that was give to me a long time ago. I also have a black one that is almost identical, But the stamp on the back has Arabic looking writing that goes completely around the China stamp. I am so curious about these pieces. Have you found out any more information????
Hello I have a pair too. someone has a clue how to know if they are original and what is the price for the copies, thank you
I am new here but I had white an blue pots and china from my mom and I had continue the collection some 350 pieces I love them
I have one of these deep dish plates but the back is different. Would like to know more about it. I am new to this site and would post a picture if figure out how.
Dear madam,
What you have there is a Chinese made peacock porcelain plate. Produced in China, although there are forgeries on the market.
If it's an original and not a fake, is to be measured on the sound it makes when you lay it down on one hand (under - in the middle) and strike it with your index finger on the edge of it, where it is the thinnest. The sound it should produce is a very high and clean beautiful long lasting 'piiiiiiiiiiiinnnnng'.
My guess would be the following
(Vintage) Blue Glaze Peacock Porcelain Plate
Color: blue glaze
Dimensions: 12" roundness plate
Material: ordinary china / porcelain
If you want info specifically about these ceramics, then I suggest you contact t
The following Chinese wholesale company brings them on the market, they can
tell you more:
Chaozhou Huifeng Ceramics Craft Making Co.,Ltd.

The back of the plate says in Arabic 'A taws al hor', two words, which mean as much as 'Original Peacock'.
It's clear the Chinese producers have a long time ago discovered that Arabs are more fond of their peacock plate than their own people. Cause I don't see any Chinese characters on the back and the Arab writing is done by hand quit quickly as if by a schoolboy. For this sort of luxury products, letters should have been written down in beautiful Arabic letter types and not in just someone's handwriting.
these are new ones the old ones are ferro red signed
