I am researching these dolls which I belief are Japanese or Asian in Origin. That is how I came to this site. I am hoping I can find out more about them here.

Hi your Japanese dolls seem to all date from 40's . They have shiny white faces that are made of What is called gufon . It was made from crushed shells usually oyster shells and glue. Under that they are made of Composition or carved wood they had glass eyes .Many of these dolls came to USA via servicemen while serving in Military and were sent home or brought back to loved ones . They really are not meant to be played with but more of a novelty doll that Japan produced for US export . Very nice little collection
I can't tell by photo what 3rd doll posted is made of a close up of face may help
