This piece was sort of a mystery one (one of those believed to be Kralik but never proved to be), but thanks to Obscurities we know for sure it's a Franz Welz knukcle bowl, as the decor is one of the pictures he shows in one of his posts (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/52309-welz-knuckel-bowls--an-assortment-of-de). By the way, he's got another post on one of the bowls: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/52238-czechoslovakia-glass-franz-welz-knuckle?in=user

It really is a nice bowl, you see it and there's something special about it. I hope the details help for a better understanding of the piece.

I think you would agree the three differences between Kralik knuckle and Welz knuckle are:
1 Welz no pontil - Kralik has pontil
2 Welz has thinner glass - Kralik has thicker glass
3 Welz usually has an applied rim - Kralik rarely has an applied rim
4 Welz pings duller - Kralik pings brighter

Really helpful description of the differences Jericho, thank you.
Do love that shape! I have one in a different decor - with the Welz applied rim.
