My husband bought this sewing machine at a thrift store today. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it. The serial number is k1182205. Thanks!

Your hubby did GOOD! Looks to be in pretty good shape. You can get info on this model at ISMACS.com, they are a worldwide collectors group. The serial number of this amchine should be on the underside, that will let you find out from Singer what model it is. See Singer Sewing Machine Co. Enjoy!

This machine is a model 27 from a batch of 49900 commissioned October 12 1903.
Not much can go wrong with these machines, look like all you need is a belt to get it working.

I wouldn't agree with you, EstateAntiques - there are many other brands of sewing machine that are beautiful, and much more rare than most Singers. Many of them are a different style to the commonly seen Singer. But Singer has a very good, reliable reputation and easily replaceable needles and usually bobbins and accessories are easy to find in most cases, which makes them better value as a machine to use.
