    Hello Friends,
I bought this an hour ago. It was sitting on a wire shelf in a forgettable mish-mash of 'stuff'. I was intrigued from the start, grabbed and admired it's many fine qualities.
It's of a modest size,( 2+7/8"h ), with handsome glazes, an interesting design/texture, and a curious partially stamped signature.
I don't know what you'll think of it, but I find myself quite fond of my new little bowl.
Any idea who the maker might be?
    Thanks for taking a look.
    Tony

Losson, Belgium. "céramique signé LOSSON", "Vase en grès signé LOSSON". It reminds me of the Deco "Frank Brangwyn" pieces of Royal Doulton. Perhaps it's the other way round?

      Hello Kevin,
Do you know if this Losson pottery company is still in business? How old would you guess this piece is? I haven't been able to find another example of Losson pottery anywhere,..........any tips where I might look?

      Sorry to bother you, Thanks

Ciao Tonino! If you google the phrases in inverted commas above you will come across a few worth point mentions; but aswe know that often leads to nothing more than an invite to join in .....
From what I've seen so far the name appears on stuff for just before the second world war up to the fifties. I've just gotten back from lunch with my Mum so I'll have another look. The references I've seen are in French, as you'd expect.

The Belgian town of Bouffioulx can be added.

Lardinois, Losson, Biron and Dubois are the four names of the potting families who still work in the town of Bouffioulx. The town hosted a pottery festival there since 1969.
I've found another piece with the mark:
      http://www.2dehands.be/antiek-art/kunst/aardewerk/sierbord-mijnwerker-getekend-losson-bouffioulx-83599582.html
This site is in Dutch, the other language of the area?
I have also seen a bowl in the style of your signed Dubois:

The names that have come up are Lardinois, Losson, Biron and Dubois. I've seen some pieces with the Losson signature and the ID is correct. The town of bouffioulx is well known for its salt glazed wares.
Google "Pot en grès céramique BOUFFIOULX Belgique signé Bernard DUBOIS 1950" and you'll a similar decor to yours.
Important names from this town are Edgard Aubry and Roger Guerin.
