Once again this somewhat brutalist style of Klaus Breit, the owner and chief designer of the long defunct Wiesenthalhütte. Tha vase is 12 cm high and one of the blackest things I possess (catalogue number 1128). It was produced from1966 to 1972 in many different colors. I particularly like the blue bowl (catalogue number 3523-12) made in very thick blue glass with wonderful effects in good light. It was produced since 1971 in different colors (I never saw it in red, but it exists) and in two different sizes, this one is 9.5 cm high.

Great vase! I love this black Wiesenthalhütte. Surfaces are far from perfect but that adds a different value to it, doesn't it?

Yes, the surface may well look imperfect on close inspection, but the soul is sublime perfection, and the vessel sings beautifully. I too am captivated by the black Wiesenthalhutte. I celebrate the imperfect surfaces.

I think the surface doen't want to be perfect. It's slightly grained. Klaus Breit did this for his bottle vases, also in other colors. My camera isn't very good. So the picture doesn't give enough details.

But compared with the blue bowl one can appreciate that the rough surface is intended. I think this was widely done in the 1970s...

The blue bowl is one of my favorites, in all its modesty. It's so thick and yet so transparent, and a wonderfull blue. But difficult to show in a picture.
