This German Mills Co. box dates to the period 1886 -1891. The factory pictured on the label burned in 1886 without insurance and the company changed names in 1891 to the American Cereal Co. In 1901 American Cereal reorganized and became the Quaker Oats Co.

I was given the box and have no idea as to its value. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I love this box. I just saw the same box in a picker's shop in Honesdale PA. The owner wanted $700 for it. I asked him why? Was it filled with $650? :)
So either keep it, or don't sell it cheap. Great piece!

Very cool. My great, great, great grandfather worked at the mill. He has a patent he sold to Schumacher.

Contact me if you watch CW. I know it's been 5 years since you posted this box.
