This is an old photo of my great grandfather (center with the mustache) taken in Crown Point, IN. Apparently he wasn't racing but was just a spectator. Anyway, I'm trying to date the picture by identifying the Pope motor cycle. My great grandfather died in 1914. The motor cycle in the photo (#11) looks a lot like the Popes I found online that were produced between 1911-1914. The Pope in the 1913 vintage ad looks very similar to the motor cycle in my photo. Can anyone date the motor cycle?
P.S. I posted this photo earlier but at the time I didn't realize that was my great grandfather in picture!
It could be a 1913 model L here is a link,

from the above link
"One of Harley-Davidson's principal competitors in the early part of the 20th century was the Pope Manufacturing Company of Westfield, Massachusetts. Better known for its cars, the firm produced motorcycles from 1911 to 1918."
Thanks, scandinavian and walksoftly, for your information. I'll conclude that the Pope is a 1913 model and that the photo was taken around then!
No problem I love old photos & mysteries, I always want to know more about a picture. Some might call it OCD, but I'll just say the picture made me do it. :-)
All the best for the Festive Season MARCOBABE!
