I need help! This is the most amazing wood carving I have ever seen. I acquired it today at an estate sale, it is very aged, but I have no idea about it's true story. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance; Greg

Hi Greg. It is an amazing piece of sculpture. It looks Chinese to me. But I'm reminded of two religious practises of the East. In India there is a religion called Jainism. They have a practise called Santhara or ritual starvation.

Allied to it I suppose is a similar practise in Buddhism called Sokushinbutsu:

I am personally moved by this Buddha image of yours. Thanks for sharing it with us and I hope that others may fill in more of the details.

You should put it out on your porch on Halloween! That would scare the little rugrats! It's pretty awesome!

correction shifting of DEBT, a sort of indulgence , due to an alleged misinterpretation of the Siddharta Gautama about the thesis living well and dying
