I have been using and collecting Vollrath enameled kitchenware and ephemera for many years, accumulating what is certainly the world's largest collection of over 100 pieces.
Many still have the original sales labels attached.
I believe that the labelled items were salesmen's samples that were retired to attics and other spots when the prospective sales rep ran into the reality of door-to-door sales.
Technically, these still belonged to the company and so they were not discarded and the company, which is still in business in Sheboygan, WI, never bothered to recover them
I also have numerous medical pieces- bedpans, chamber pots (including one miniature pink one for a child), urinals, and medical trays. Because these still have the paper labels I am certain they have never been used.
Largest piece (recently bought online): a 6 gallon pot with lid
Smallest piece: a 2 oz. child's cup
Most interesting: a set of WW2 mess kit, 1942 black enamel canteen w/ cover, and 1943 non-enameled canteen and an ad showing Vollrath's war efforts.
I also recently acquired a baby bottle sterilizer, with the glass bottles and nipples included.
